Trump has been extremely successful in his effort to steamroll elites.

When self-professed moderates discuss universities in The New York Times, it’s hard to understand how and why these formerly Constitution-loving dudes have been so intoxicated by fake culture wars.

Yes, they use Harvard to stand in for all American higher education. Sometimes as a courtesy they add other Ivies. As an extreme bend to pluralism, they include Stanford.

But I expected that. It’s their assumptions and throwaway lines that make the mind spin. It’s vertigo—how influential people moved so precipitously to the right and now pretend they never thought otherwise.
