Americans are drinking less, and the ones that are looking to quit altogether have new models by which to fashion their sobriety. I joined “Think” host Krys Boyd to discuss our changing relationship to alcohol, from “soberinfluencers” to Dry January, and the new methods of recovery that eschew the 12-step method. (I talked about this too in WIRED recently: “The End of Alcohol.”)

Listen to the episode here.

Holy ( redacted ) This was exactly what I needed this morning. I loved the way way you addressed the chapter "To Wives" ...and much of the cornball stuff that is in the literature...all true and I agree. I am 6 years sobes today ..after being in and out of the twelve step program for decades.... I am very much at home in the loose confines of that community. It is the land of the misfit toys....and I couldn't be happier to fit in with the UNfittable. Thank you for your beautiful interview. I loved the story of the person hitting bottom waking up with drag queen who looked like Ted Cruz. I also strongly identified with your choices at that time Leaving las Vegas or an AA meeting..

Yep. That's me too. Thank you.
