Sad College Boys
MAGA avengers felt lonely and alienated at Harvard, Yale, and UVA. Now they want revenge.
Tucker Carlson gave fun yearbook props to Jesse Helms (“White people, wake up! Do you want Negroes working beside you, your wife and your daughters?”) and Dan White, murderer of Harvey Milk.
Have some compassion: A huge gang of Trump staffers were sad in college.
They felt “socially alienated from more liberal classmates” at their alma maters, according to their classmates, who were quoted in the Washington Post.
These white Trumpites are graduates of places like George Mason University, the University of Virginia, Yale, Harvard Law School, and New York University. They described “feelings of social isolation on campuses and a closed-minded environment” that was hostile to them and their far-right views.
Now, as vengeance, these brave alumni are defunding their universities, ousting presidents, scuttling college curricula, ending medical research at their own alma matters.
This is the Stephen Metcalf theory of “couldn’t get laid in college” resentment. Stephen asks that we don’t underestimate involuntary college celibacy as a driving force in lifelong vengeance projects.
