On the day features of psychosis blossomed on the grand delirium,

the leaves vibrated prettily in the slanted light.

It was a quiet afternoon.

The leaves were beneath notice.

And softly into that day came the insult,

a prognosis burned into the flesh of the world

as if someone had taken a branding iron to its flank.

A rogue state

That which we dreaded
