I have no illusions of influence at this late hour. And whichever VP our VP chooses will more than suffice. But if I had a choice in the veepstakes, it would be the dad: Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.

And it’s not just because I’ve been getting and sending the lovable videos of Walz as if they were videos of seals or newborn buffalo. No: it’s because Walz recently convulsed a paradigm shift that seems indispensable if we’re to reconceive our country.
